E. coli colonies are dark green and have a teal halo.  With ETC Plus, they fluoresce a bright blue color under long wave UV light in a dark room.

Coliform colonies are compact dark red without a halo.  With ETC Plus, they also fluoresce.  Non-coliform gram-negative colonies are compact dark red, but do not fluoresce with ETC Plus when lighted with UV.
